I am still in shock two days later. The FIRST BLACK PRESIDENT is something that I thought I would never live to see. When I found out the news I was glued to the television and I began to think of a quote from W.E.B. DuBois " One ever feels this twoness--an American and a Negro, two souls, two thoughts, two unreconciled strivings, two warring ideals in one dark body, whose dogged strength alone keeps it from being torn asunder."

I have always been proud to be Black and even with all the struggles my people have been through I still wouldn't come back any other way.


Obama is a GREAT father and when I see him and Michelle I see TRUE love and it's good to see a model of a stable, loving Black family in the White House.

The Flyest First Lady EVER!!!!

I was watching The View yesterday and they were having a first lady fashion show and it seemed as if Elisabeth was downplaying the fact that Michelle Obama is becoming a fashion icon. Even though her dresses may only cost a couple hundred dollars, I don't think she has to be as flashy as Cindy does because she has more to offer than fancy dresses.

When I think of the potential change that is going to happen in America it brings tears to my eyes to think that an African American family will be in charge of a country that was built with the blood, sweat and tears of their ancestors. Michelle Obama is a GREAT mother and a GREAT wife and I know that there are many times when I am being selfish when it comes to my husbands time but how do you nag a man that is running the damn country?
